Jaume Santonja es un director de orquesta español cuya carrera internacional, en rápido crecimiento, le ha llevado a dirigir orquestas en toda Europa y Asia. Antiguo percusionista de la Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, aporta al podio una combinación poco común de claridad, energía y un enfoque profundamente atento y colaborativo del sonido orquestal.
Ha ocupado los cargos de Director Principal Invitado de la Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano y Director Asociado de la Euskadiko Orkestra, y fue Director Asistente de la City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, trabajando estrechamente con Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla—una experiencia que marcó su concepción de la música como un viaje vivo y compartido.
Desde 2026, es Director Artístico de la Fundació Sonora de la Comunitat Valenciana, donde lidera un proyecto pedagógico de largo recorrido centrado en la formación de jóvenes músicos y en el fortalecimiento de la cultura sinfónica en la región.
Jaume Santonja is a Spanish conductor whose rapidly growing international career spans leading orchestras across Europe and Asia. A former percussionist with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, he brings to the podium a rare combination of clarity, energy, and a deeply attentive, collaborative approach to orchestral sound.
He has held positions as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano and Associate Conductor of the Euskadiko Orkestra, and was Assistant Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, working closely with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla — an experience that shaped his approach to music as a living, shared journey.
Since 2026, Jaume serves as Artistic Director of the Fundació Sonora of the Comunitat Valenciana, leading a long-term educational project focused on the training of young musicians and the strengthening of symphonic culture across the region.
